Froot Loop Packaging ReDesign Proposal

With the intention of upgrading a products traditional packaging and inspiring consumers at the same time, A Modern Take on a Classic Product was created. Using a pre-existing Froot Loops cereal box, the artist worked to change a classic product while not removing it completely from the traditional packaging. This first attempt on product packaging was inspiring and challenging at the same time. It allowed for the opportunity to market towards kids in a new and unique way, while also moving towards a more simplistic design and containing all the same information that the original box had. The concept of mimicking the way a child pours a milk cartoon with a cereal box was a large inspiration for the brands design as the motion is familiar and already associated with the cereal category. The new packaging proposal allows for different sized milk cartons to be utilized such as a gallon for family sized box, 1/2 for a normal box and quarts for individual servings.

Expressive Typography

This piece was created with the intention that no color or images would be used in order to tell a classic story, The Tortoise and the Hare. The work allowed for an extensive use of expressive typography without altering or changing the words and phrasing of the original story. Not only is the text itself telling the story but the design of the physical book is also demonstrating characteristics of the fable as well. The unique folding of the book allows for it to literally be stretched out as if seeing the entire race from start to finish. This aspect also adds to the symbolism of the red string that is used to tie open and close the novel while representing the crossing of the finished line. This work adds a new perspective to one of Aesop’s iconic fabels.

Woven Memories Series

Woven Memories is a series created with the intention to describe the complicated and interwoven relationships that make up our lives. Each piece in the series was crafted and assembled by hand in order to create 3 separate 5’ x 5’ frames. Each frame contains 100 nails that create the weave for the strips of t-shirts to be assembled on. The work contains an personalized aspect as each of the strips were originally from tshirts that hold significant memories to family, friends or the artist. Separately the strips are weak, however when woven together they create a strong and flexible force, symbolic to a person’s emotional support system.
